Thompson House: Rehabilitation and Nursing Center - Residential Care in Brattleboro Vermont

Updated COVID-19 Visitation Policy

Updated COVID-19 Visitation Policy

March 1, 2022

Dear Families and Friends,

We honestly can’t tell you how thankful we are to announce:
1) the return of in-room visits throughout the facility, and
2) DOGS!

Thanks to the most recent CDC data indicating a sharp decrease in area infection rates, the Infection Prevention Committee has given the go-ahead for in-room visits, effective immediately, as follows:

Residents of private rooms may welcome visitors in their rooms, two at a time, at any time. Residents of semi-private rooms may do the same, provided their roommate is willing and able to vacate during the visit. If not, we’ll do our best to accommodate your visit elsewhere in the facility – calling ahead, and being mindful of the time spent during your visit, will be appreciated.

ALL OTHER SAFETY MEASURES REMAIN IN PLACE. Visitors, two at a time, will still wear masks, record their temperatures, and sign the Visitor’s Log before entering the floor. End-of-Life visits are unchanged.

And dogs! Gentle, well-behaved, fully-vaccinated dogs are again welcome to visit their residents.

Thank you again for your continued understanding as we take these admittedly deliberate and cautious steps toward a return to normal. Thompson House has long fostered an active, vibrant, and inclusive community filled with laughter, discussion, live music, guest presentations, and boisterous group activities, competitive and otherwise. We’ll get back there, friends, and hopefully soon.

Very sincerely,

Melissa Osborne, RN, DNS
Dane Rank, Administrator

PS: Speaking of activities, how would you like to receive your weekly Activities Calendar? Email is preferable to us (much cheaper, very honestly) but we’ll happily mail you a paper copy if you prefer. And if you’d like to share the Activities Calendar with other members of your resident’s circle, by all means, provide us with their contact info and we’ll get them on the mailing list. Simply call 802-254-4977 and tell us your preference, email or physical USPS address. Thanks!
