Thompson House: Rehabilitation and Nursing Center - Residential Care in Brattleboro Vermont

COVID-19 Update: March 29, 2022

March 29, 2022

Dear Families and Friends,

We are very happy to report that we have not had a resident case of COVID since 3/10, and while we did have two positive staff in the last 14 days, the last round of facility testing was completely negative.

To put that more plainly, we have no incidents of COVID-19 in the building. This is tremendous news and indicates that visitors to the facility have been taking the necessary precautions and doing the proper things to keep their loved ones safe. And in so doing, they’re helping to keep everyone safe, and we thank you all for that.

Remember, too, that we are no longer automatically rapid testing all visitors as per the state of Vermont’s decision to limit the use of state-funded testing. Despite that, we feel that our testing protocol was instrumental in keeping COVID out of our community for most of the last two years and we are more than happy to perform a rapid antigen test on any visitor who requests one.

Testing will continue on Mondays and Thursdays for the foreseeable future; we will be in touch with updates when warranted.

In the meanwhile, thank you all for your continued patience, understanding and support. As always, feel free to call to speak to your loved one’s nurse, day or night, for clinical updates.

Sincerely,

Melissa Osborne, RN, DNS
