Thompson House: Rehabilitation and Nursing Center - Residential Care in Brattleboro Vermont

COVID-19 Update: July 1, 2022

July 1, 2022

Dear Families and Friends,

It’s been a little bit since our last update because, happily, no residents have tested positive for COVID-19 since May and zero staff members have been diagnosed since the first week of June.

As good as that news is it is important to note that this virus is still very much with us and in everchanging variants. Omicron BA.4 and BA.5 are the latest that we’re aware of and, as with previous variants, each represents a new and direct challenge to the protection received from our existing vaccines and boosters.

And that is why 1) we thank you sincerely for your continued patience with our masking-in-the-facility policy and 2) we continue to urge you to visit with your friends and loved ones outdoors when weather permits.

And you have options! The patio off the Sun Room is beautifully decked-out for summer with comfortable seating, well-spaced tables and flowering plants; there are park benches on either side of the front door, out on the front lawn, and on the side lawn to the right of the driveway. A picnic table can be found toward the rear side of the building, between us and our neighbor, BMH.

All of us at Thompson House wish you a very happy, healthy, and safe 4th of July celebration! And remember, if you think or suspect you’ve been exposed to the virus, a free rapid test before your next visit is yours for the asking.

That’s it for now. Have fun and stay safe!
