Thompson House: Rehabilitation and Nursing Center - Residential Care in Brattleboro Vermont

A letter to residents, family and staff of Thompson House from our administrator (February 4, 2022)

February 4, 2022

Dear Families and Friends,

We are very happy to report that the eight residents who had most recently been exposed to COVID-19 have completed their quarantine period, tested negative, and are cleared to resume limited, cohorted, communal dining and activities.

Of our two COVID-19 positive residents, both are doing well, with no-to-mild symptoms, and are being monitored closely each shift, 24/7. Both are expected to be cleared and free to move about the facility (to the extent allowable by the Vermont epidemiologist’s guidance) by next Wednesday, 2/9.

Yesterday’s (2/3) round of all-staff PCR testing yielded no positives, so we remain hopeful.

And speaking of hopeful, our Activities Department is taking steps to resume a limited, but more open and inclusive, schedule. Slow and steady will remain the words of the day but Shannon (Activities Director) hopes you’ll see a reimagined Weekly Activities Calendar in your mailbox sometime very soon.

We’ll update you all again next week, or before if need be. Until then, thank you all for your continued vigilance, patience, understanding and, maybe most of all, your encouragement.

Please stay safe,

Melissa Osborne, RN, DON
Dane Rank, Administrator
