Thompson House: Rehabilitation and Nursing Center - Residential Care in Brattleboro Vermont

A letter to family and friends of Thompson House from our administrator (February 10, 2021)

Dear Families, Residents, Staff, and Friends,

Thank you for your understanding as we return to Transmission Precautions at Thompson House following the identification of a COVID – positive team member. We are very sorry to discontinue in-person visits after just opening them up again, but we continue to work with the Vermont Outbreak Response team to again contain the infection to the affected staff member. It is the Infection Prevention team and staff members in cooperation with families and residents that will allow us to again stop this infection in its tracks, and ensure that it does not spread to our residents and other staff. We will open up again as soon as we are able.

Thompson House will be maintaining this level of precaution for at least two weeks, and will coordinate with the Vermont Outbreak Response team following satisfaction of requirements for re – opening.

Your help in this matter is appreciated. This is not the best state of affairs, but one we have dealt with before. Nearly all of the residents have already received two doses of the Pfizer vaccine this time, and we welcome the affect this will have on their safety.

Very Sincerely,

Dane A. Rank, Administrator
